What! Christmas is next week?! but I'm not ready...

So. It's been a busy month since I last posted here. I actually made it to 50,000 words and won NaNoWriMo this year but only after I started adding the notes about what I wanted to do in the rewrite. I found that I had written myself into a corner and that there was just too much exposition that was dragging everything down to a grinding halt. I liked the basic premise of the novel and a few of the characters but I didn't like how my main character was so passive and blah. Oh well, there's always the first rewrite to look forward to, uh, sometime next year, yeah.

Omg, next Friday is Christmas and I am so not ready this year. Now that I'm on vacation my body has decided to go on strike and let the cold germs run rampant to protest the mass amounts of stress and strain I put it through during the last weeks of November. Grrr, not so great being sick like this. Lots of sleep and liquids can only do so much, time will have to do the rest. Sigh. So much for the thought of vacation.

Still, I'm determined to enjoy as much of my vacation as I can by catching up on some reading as well as playing game apps on my ipod touch. My latest game obsession is Epic Chef Wars, the same basic game as Epic Pet Wars only with chefs fighting it out through cooking instead of pets just fighting. I find it more satisfying battling it out as a chef rather than a pet; I suppose it implies some kind of skill in cooking rather than brute strength, something I don't have in RL. It's always the little things that amuse me.

Oh well, it's back to RL now. I have to get ready for the show to start so it's off until my next post. If I'm stuck in the mall shopping my little heart out I just want to wish everyone the happiest of holidays and peace for the new year. Enjoy and celebrate, everyone! :)
